Sam was 5-3 up in the second set but her lead vanished and the set was level at 5-5. However she held on to
her serve and again leads 6-5

Yes, 13 points - to go with the 13 she has at the moment plus 6 from last week

I make it her biggest win of the decade so far by ranking (by opponent's ranking I mean, it's much bigger by ranking gap!), her 3rd biggest of all time and her 4th win against a player in the WTA top 150:

2012: v WR 92 (2) Misaki Doi (JPN) - Toyota W75 R2

2019: v WR 118 (7) Marie Bouzkova (CZE) - Manchester W100 R2

2024: v WR 120 (q1) Julia Riera (ARG) - Guadalajara WTA QR1

2013: v WR 122 (3) Tadeja Majeric (SLO) - Trabzon W50 R2

As someone pointed out recently, Riera has only won one match since qualifying at Roland-Garros (a US Open QR2 win against Gjorcheska) and Argentine tweeters are moaning about her losing to an 'unknown' 36-year-old no, but I still think it's a very encouraging result for Sam.

I cant recall if Guadalajara is at altitude and the air will be thin and courts quick? Nonetheless, thats possibly the rankings result win of the season!
