any insights on Julian and Lloyd - looks like Julian may have split from Galloway, would Julian and Lloyd be just a stop gap?

presumably Henry and Harri are a secure pairing ?

Sadly not! Sorry to disappoint but I don't have too much insight on the tennis. I tend to try not talk about tennis too much outside of recent results with Henry as for obvious reasons it's often all people want to talk about when with Henry.

As far as I'm aware both Henry and Harri are a secure pairing, still got Turin finals to play for so that sets a good goal for the end of the year, and then it's a ridiculously quick turnaround to the Aussie Open.

Julian and Rob have had decent results but really poor slam showings so wouldn't surprise me if they were looking to split up (no slams until January so probably a good time to find a partner) but I really have no idea on this / any extra info.

No worries and thanks ! yes the Tour Finals in Turin is a great target; as a slam winner, they should be secure to take a slot even if they dropped out of top 8. Both getting their individual ranking into the top 10 would be a great target as well!

Neal in qf action this evening, approximately 9.20 BST.

Things taking their time on Grandstand. It's looking more like midnight our time.

( at 9.20 we were only 3 games into a women's doubles QF with a mixed doubles SF to follow, before Neal & Michael ).

Hmm, 10.50 pm BST and that women's doubles QF is going into a 3rd set, with the mixed doubles SF still to follow.

Neal and Michael went out in straight sets. Feels like the mens doubles didnt quite deliver, lots of quantity but no one took that additional step that I think we all wanted.

Feels like Neal and Michael is still a partnership to stick with for now; Joe, Jamie, Julian, Lloyd, Luke all feel like players who arent in the best positions pairing wise and will/ could be looking around.

Think it might have been Indiana that mentioned no Brits playing as a pair earlier? Maybe there could be a chance for a few of these guys to look at playing with each other. (Julian and Lloyd obviously playing together in a tourney coming up). I think almost all of them play on the same side on returns which I suspect is part of the problem.

Not too surprised by Neal's score line, the opposition are surely the best in the world at the moment.

It's difficult to be critical when we have so many men competing at the highest level, but it feels like we haven't had quite the consistent success across the board as previous years. Realise it's a high bar and we still have a Wimbledon title.

And Neal and Michael had two set points.

For the record, as it doesn't actually seem to have been mentioned:

QF:  (4) Marcelo Arévalo & Mate Pavic (ESA/CRO) CR 15 (8+7) defeated (8) Neal Skupski & Michael Venus (NZL) CR 36 (19+17) by 7-6(1) 6-1

Much as I'd feared.  cry
