Weeks 35-36 - Grand Slam US Open - DOUBLES - Hard

And the upset I hoped for but didn't predict - a great win over the Olympic champions

R2:- Harriet Dart (GBR) / Diane Parry (FRA) CR222 (68+154) def Sara Errani (ITA) / Jasmine Paolini (ITA) CR25 (13+12) [6] 7-6(3) 3-6 6-3

That win earns them 240 points and $63k between them.

Harriet now live ranked at 59, one ahead of Heather (and just 11 points in front).

(And Diane is up 45 places to 109)

That's an amazing result, Jasmine has been the Female player of the season so far IMO so to get a result against her is impressive.

Super for Harriet. She will almost certainly hit further new CHs for both singles and doubles in the 09/09 rankings.

Katie and Anna save four match points and break for a tiebreak but can't save a fifth. At least she played far better than in her singles, much more on her toes, better whip on the forehand, some decent hands at the net. Maybe she should play doubles a tiny bit more, might help with some confidence.

6-7(8) 6-7(5)

R2:- Katie Boulter (GNR) / Anna Kalinskaya (***) CR580 (458+122) lost to Demi Schuurs (NED) / Luisa Stefani (BRA) CR45 (25+20) [8] (8)6-7 (5)6-7

As PaulM said earlier, two singles players having fun, not really knowing what they were doing !

I think Katie is suffering from imposter syndrome. She plays much better when shes not really expected to win.

Excellent win for Dart, shes always been a handy doubles player

The other two matches have both started. So there are currently five matches with Brits on court at the same time.
