5 players through to the second round is good though. When was the last time we managed that (assuming Harriet loses of course!).

Maybe not assume Harriet+ lose. They have just levelled at 1 set all, 3-6 6-3. So we might be talking 6 through

I've been out all day, but good news to return to,  Maia+Anna especially as I thought that would be a tough one.

R1:- Maia Lumsden (GBR) / Anna Siskova (CZE) CR151 (76+75) def Hanyu Guo (CHN) / Monica Niculescu (ROM) CR73 (35+38) 3-6 7-5 7-5  biggrin

R1:- Asia Muhammad (USA) / Heather Watson (GBR) CR78 (19+59) v Moyuka Uchijima (JPN) / Yue Yuan (CHN) CR290 (169+121) 7-5 7-6(0)

What a great win for Maia + Anna, and their first over non British opponents this summer. They'd only beaten Anna amd Freya and were struggling as a pair.

Topsy-turvy for Harriet+

Twice a break up in the 3rd set ( with breaks in the first 4 games ) they then were then a break down at *2-5 but have just levelled it back at 5-5*

A couple of holds and we have a MTB to decide it.

What a great match! Fantastic from Harriet and Diane from *2-5 in the third and then 0-4* in the MTB. I thought Shnaider was mostly excellent, but Noskova was mainly just there.

Amazing results!

A very good run of doubles play by Harriet and Diane, great ball placement and volleying - their opponents had no answer.

I think Maia and Anna have the worst draw against the winners in Monterrey, although Liv and Tereza ran them close.

I'm hoping for a minimum of 4 wins, with a fair chance of all 6.

I thought rather brave optimism. But hey!

6 out of the ultimate 7 through

What a great set of results! Just a shame none of them are playing together

It was Harriet and Diane that was the other match I doubted - and I thought Sam and Camilla would win. Ayyway, a good set of results, some nice points and $40k cash per pair (so far)

What a great win for Harriet and Diane. 5-2 down in the third, match point saved. Shnaider and Noskova were semifinalists in Cincinnati, ironically beating Errani and Paolini en route.

Impressed if someone can find the last time we had six first round women's doubles winner at a Slam.

Amazing to see 6 through, great stuff - nonetheless, all play seeded pairs next so anyone progressing further would be a result!
