If you think it's "probably", and I am sure most of us though Alcaraz would win, why not indeed say "probably"?! Just about anything is a "possibly" regarding tennis results.
I would guess most of us think Alex will probably beat Dan ( though as I indicated, it looks far from the worst for a L32 match ). Hopefully that one is a surprise too.

Russell Fuller's analysis of the match between Carlitos & BvdZ:
This was a startling upset, achieved with great poise, by a Dutchman who was considering retirement as recently as this year's French Open. It was only Van de Zandschulp's 13th tour level win of an eight-month-old season, and he was better than the world number 3 throughout.
Alcaraz was a shadow of the man who won both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. He also played in the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics, and even 21-year-olds are allowed to hit the wall.
A string of upsets in this section of the draw means someone will play in their first Grand Slam semi-final at this US Open. The opportunity falls to Van de Zandschulp and his third round opponent Jack Draper - along with the 10th seed Alex de Minaur, Matteo Arnaldi and the unseeded Dan Evans, David Goffin, Tomas Machac and Jordan Thompson.
So, hope for Jack, especially if BvdZ's win over Carlitos was his final... I was quite shocked to see that the Dutchman had won in straight sets.
I was quite amused to see some X posts wondering what was wrong with Alcaraz and asking if he was on a downward spiral etc - these things happen, players are human and even the top players are up and down. I remember one French Open, was it 1990 (?) when Becker and Edberg both lost first round, I think they were seeded one and two - end of the world if you read the press at the time, both of course came back and won more slams, Edberg won 3 more after that and Becker another 2.
Alexei Popyrin had too much for Djoko in the first 2 sets today, he faltered in set 3, but winning a grueling 10 minute game in set 4 seemed to put Popyrin back in the driving seat... Title no 25 is put on hold again. I wonder if that result affects Jack's odds.

Not sure re bookies, but tennis abstract now have Jack at 1.2% chance of title and 8th favourite of the 16/7 players left in.
Zverev is 2 sets to 1 up now at 1.55am. The latest US Open finish was 2.50am in 2022 for Sinner and Alcaraz. That could be under threat, will certainly be if it goes to a fifth set, although Zverev must be favourite to close it in 4.
