Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, Tanaqui. I saw your request, but had to go out in a bit of a hurry to buy a stamp from the Post Office to send a birthday card to Canada in time to catch the 17.30 collection from the box outside.

No worries! Getting a birthday card into the post should always be a much higher priority.
And those changes Jack's made do seem to be making a BIG difference. I also thought that would be a much tighter match than it turned out to be. Well done, Jack!
Am astonishing set of scorelines by Draper. And for British tennis, he is stepping up as Andy retired in the same way that Andy stepped up when Tim retired. British tennis is very lucky.
Jack playing well but Machac has been appalling. Lots hope he stays that way for another set.
I'm wondering whether Jack's opponents are all falling short in this tournament or is his aggression disheartening them? Machac was okay up to 3all in the first set then he just seemed to fall away like all the others. Is it coincidence - a series of opponents all having bad days - or is it something Jack's style is doing to them?

Jannik Sinner is now the bookies favourite but he didn't have it all his own way against Tommy Paul.
It was in the big points that Sinner shone, like at 6-5 in the second tie break, but the match was into the third game before Sinner could finally shake Paul off. 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-1.
Fair play to Paul for he has come on a ton since a few years ago when I remember him being one of the players that Cam Norrie defeated on his way to the Indian Wells title.
