Well done Jack and a chance now to reach the last eight.

A very solid win for Jack with not much emergy wasted. Tomas Machac will be a tough opponent though. He's playing really well and has won all 3 previous meetings against Jack.

The first set and a half of this match was the best quality Ive seen in a long time.

I dont post much on here anymore really but I just want to say how inspiring it has been watching Dan tonight. He was on his haunches from the start and kept going.

Hes not got long left playing himself, but I hope he stays in tennis, his attitude is absolutely fantastic

Thanks for explaining Blue_Belle  I thought it was strange that Dan had just won a tie break then didn't win another game in two sets.

Seems like that 1st round epic finally caught up with him.

But still a decent week from Dan.

I think I read it was his hip but may be wrong.

I miss your posts but glad all's good

And SO glad that Dan's little peak this year was at a high-profile/points/money moment - I agree with you, he's a shining example of what can be achieved - a guy who's only 5 ft 9, who's had his 'down' times, but has great natural ball skills and who really loves a battle, loves the challenge, and brings his all, every time

He sounded pretty philosophical about his performance in the brief extract from his post-match press conference I've just seen on the BBC News Channel.  He also said he was "a bit sick" before the match, but that that was Grand Slam tennis & that Miñaur was the better player.  I didn't expect him to pull a rabbit out of the hat for the third match in a row, but it was still disappointing to see that result when I checked this morning.

Surely he's played his way into being first choice as No. 2 singles player in Davis Cup?

Jack changes his approach to preparations for his last 16 match.  Interesting comments on coffee!

SC, archive.ph isn't loading for me currently (although archive.is is.) Would you mind posting the original link so I can run it through archive.is. Thanks!
