Nice - good stuff! 5 through , 3 to come - thats decent !
7 through in the end (5.22 'expected', so an excellent performance by the Brits overall) - it matches the highest number into QR2 over the last quarter of a century, though it is the first time the number of Brits in US Open qualifying has reached double figures since we had 11 in QR1 (but just 5 wins) back in 1998:
2000: 7 from 8 - all 4 men & 3 out of 4 women
2021: 7 from 7 - all 6 women & 1 man
2024: 7 from 10 - all 4 women & 3 out of 6 men
2021 was, of course, spectacular, with three of the women going on to qualify and one of them winning the title.
For 4 of the first 5 Brits through (Jan & Fran's opponents have only been decided in the last half an hour, so there are no odds for their matches yet), the odds for QR2 imply even higher win probabilities than the odds for QR1 did.

Paul dropped the first set 6-3 and failed to serve out the second at 5-3, but unlike in the tiebreak against Liam Otto's serve deserted him, and a couple of doubles helped Paul to take the tiebreak 7-3
