Sonay is the only one scheduled for Monday - 3rd on Court 14, so late on Monday evening GB time.

Heather is playing today too. Second on Court 5.

Clervie, obviously, is a wildcard. She's still a junior, now age 18, born 2006

She won Junior Wimbledon last year, 2023

Hits a very heavy ball but, overall, quite playable - Heather should be able to outfox her

All going according to plan so far #crossfingers

Hev won the first set 6-1

Clervie would have struggled in that first set of the court had been 50% longer and wider.

She's playing better now, but still really struggling with her first shot after the serve.

Heather staying steady, clean, professional and smart so far. But will need to keep focused and calm as this gets towards the business end.

Hev gets the double break then plays a diabolical game.

4-1*

Hopefully that is her bit of drama for the day. *5-1

Torturous ending, but she saves two break points at wins despite getting silly tight, 6-1 6-1.

Clervie will be absolutely furious with herself for that performance.

Never in doubt

I've seen Clervie play some truly AWFUL matches and it sounds like that was one of them

But with the pressure of a home slam, and Hev's wily play and lack of pace, it's no surprise :)

Sasnovich (her potential 2nd round opponent) can play some truly awful matches too but will be a far tougher prospect for Heather.

Yes. Completely different kettle of fish. Sasnovich has a lot of experience, and will have played Heather's like many a time

Clervie wanted a young, hard-hitting opponent - and got her worst nightmare biggrin

They used to call that a good learning experience!

Sonay does get the second break and takes the opener 6-3.

Slightly sloppy opening to the second set though. Broken to love.

6-3 0-1*

Sasnovic made it through in straight sets. According to the WTA H2H Heather has only played her once before winning in three sets in Cincinnati in 2021

Sonay broke back, then recovered from *0-40 to game point, but missed it and was broken anyway.

1-2*
