Week 34 - Grand Slam US Open, USA - QUALIFYING - Hard

She won £143,000 a few weeks ago. So I'd be astonished if funds, given other support she gets, were an issue for her tennis over the next 12-18 months.

Maybe with the health issues she had she just doesn't want to long long tournament blocks far away, and instead has structured a schedule that's let's her play events at the right level in Europe for a few weeks at a time.

As she gets higher she will need to travel more just because there are less events each week to choose from. But as CD says, for some players it takes time to get confident and comfortable doing it.

Others are quite happy (not the right word, willing maybe!) to head off to the Far East for 6-8 weeks chuntering around between tournaments in little buses. The only right way is what's right for the player.

She's doing great, and still a long bit of the season to go to keep working and playing and winning.

Go Sonay!

Some find travelling from tournament to tournament all over the world is not the life for them. Naomi Cavaday was one such example.
