The courts here are said to be super fast and a win over a really inform FAA was really good.

Jack himself says so in the Stu Fraser report I posted yesterday.

Ok, thanks Sc - I hadnt read that article as it wont open for me im afraid, but Id seen some twitter discussion on it.

re those archive articles, does access time out after 24 hours , wondered why it wont work ( other links like the bbc one work fine )

That's odd:  still works OK for me.  Let's try this one:

Stu Fraser's perspective on that match point.  Well worth reading.  Interesting paragraph:

As the debate continued, the crowd chanted, Replay. ATP rules do not yet permit the use of VAR-style technology despite trials taking place at a select number of tournaments over the past five years. The officiating supervisor could also offer no input because he believed his view from behind the court was not definitive.

And later:

It has intensified calls for video reviews to be made available across the tour. The ATP has made electronic line-calling mandatory at all regular events from next year, but has stopped short of doing the same for reviews. Thankfully, this year's US Open will have VAR-style technology available on eight of its main match courts.

Thanks SC - it could be a problem with my phone, maybe it doesnt like the archive site for some reason! Im not near a laptop for a week or so, so I will have to wonder what Im missing!

A great set of doubles results. Hope they can keep going. See that Murray is reuniting with Peers for Winston Salem and US Open.

It seems that I was the kiss of death...

Hi Jon, Just to reassure you its not a problem with your phone. The archive site isn't opening for me on any of my devices today, although curiously if I turn on my browser's VPN it does then open.

Just got up for the loo and hoped to catch some of it, but sadly not - Jack lost 4 and 2.

Pity but a good week for him nonetheless.

First set Jamie and Ivan 76; is this their first tournament as a pairing?
