Week 33 - ITF W35 Aldershot, Great Britain - Hard

Super win !!!!

the Latvian player was previously in the top-200

And even now it's a great win for Mimi's result sheet - WR 325 and second seed !

Great to see two through so far.

Hoping Hannah can make it 3 from 3.

Mimi won 6-2 6-3, decent performance after quite a few quiet months.

Top girls have been  held back due to A levels and the French Open juniors finishing later, which meant a slow start to the grass season and their junior commitments. I cant see things improving too much next year TBH hence the W35s etc are like gold dust to them.

I make it five match points so far, some at 5-3 and more at 5-4. Now 5-5.

One place difference in the rankings looks about right.

I don't normally think that an umpire error makes all the difference - but I think this one did
- and it was well out
But Hannah, that's life, go and rest up, treat the calf or the cramp or whatever it was (she didn't fall, so much as suddenly crumple as she was walking, and then carried on, so I don't think it can be too bad)
Just one of those daft matches
Put it behind you

Maybe., Though their current rankings are coincidentally close with both being a fair bit underhande

Cabrera was almost Top 100 before Covid hit.

From what I saw there were quite a few dodgy line calls. Mainly against Hannah but I did see a some Hannah shots get called in that were extremely close if not out.

it also wasnt good that the umpire took about 30seconds or more to get out of his chair to go and see if Hannah was ok.

I haven't been watching today, but there were some dodgy calls at Roehampton as well that the umpire really shouldn't have made.

Yes, I saw a ball of Lizette's that was in (IMO) and was called out

However, it wasn't an important point whereas the first one re Hannah was really key

That's life, it happens, but the two main ones against Hannah were right under his nose, and the camera showed it very clearly, and he had no idea

And yes re the getting out of his chair too
