 Wowzer

I know that SC never believes the GB player might win, unless there's a difference of at least 1000 ranking places, and even then it's just 'possible' smile

But I was with her on this one - I saw Cukierman walking that one ..... completely wrong ! Brilliant biggrin

A tad unexpected that Oscar will be playing a challenger main draw, however delighted he has managed to take the opportunity and qualify here.

How wrong was I?!!!  biggrin  Delighted that I was, too:

FQR:  Oscar Weightman WR 1135 defeated (9) Daniel Cukierman (ISR) WR 550 by 3 & 2

On the face of it, he's had quite a jammy first round draw, too....

*****

L32:  Charles Broom WR 253 vs (Q) Filip Peliwo (POL) WR 583 (CH = 161 in May 2018)

L32:  (Q) Aleksandre Bakshi (GEO) WR 536 (CH = 535 last week) vs (Q) Oscar Weightman WR 1135

Despite his relatively low ranking Bakshi has reached a challenger final and semi this year, so has pedigree. But weirdly poor results at M15/25 level. Hopefully he plays at this level this week!

It was a jammy draw:

L32:  (Q) Oscar Weightman WR 1135 defeated (Q) Aleksandre Bakshi (GEO) WR 536  by 4 & 1  biggrin

Where did that come from?

L16:  (6) Marc-Andrea Hüsler (SUI) WR 205 (CH = 47 in February 2022) vs (Q) Oscar Weightman WR 1135

Oscar is certainly having a good week, bit of a step up in class next, but nonetheless!

 And now three ! biggrin

You've got to be in it to win it - well done to Oscar for rolling the dice and trying something a bit higher up
