On the subject of doubles, there's been a bit of swapping post Wimbledon. Are Skupski and Venus now a confirmed pairing, and who will Murray be playing with going forward? And Glasspool? And Johnson?

And Krajicek? And Dodig? (repeat to fade)

The cut-offs for the summer hard court events are ridiculously strong. Krajicek and Tiafoe didn't qualify for Canada (where they appear to be doing a doubles trial again), and Cash and Galloway are potentially missing both.

Kraijeck/Dodig have split, Pavlasek/Behar as well. Glasspool/Rojer forced to split with Lloyds ranking drop.

The list for Winston-Salem gives the best indicator for the US Open and maybe beyond. Skupski/Venus, Murray/Peers reunited, Doumbia/Glasspool (Doumbia regular partner Reboul out injured), Rojer/Kraijeck, Dodig/Pavlasek.

I think the plan is Johnson/Behar although they are not playing Winston-Salem. Potentially there Johnson could repair with Patten.

Kraijeck/Tiafoe missed out on Montreal as they tried to enter using a method that didnt exist. There is a doubles only initial list, followed by a singles only on site list. The only exception is a top 10 singles player with a top 50 doubles player. They met none of that criteria so were just placed as first alternates.

Cash/Galloways joint ranking is normally not one high enough for a Masters. They really need to get into the top 13 in the race to get into Shanghai and Paris or top 13 at the end of the year which should secure places in the first five Masters of next year.

With these doubles trials once you take out the spots for top 13, there is actually only room for 3 pairs on doubles ranking.

Is Harri withdrawn? The darts list still shows harri and Henry but it sounds like you have some other info?

thanks for these updates, Wolf - where do you get this info from? Do you know folks or is there a site that is good for doubles news? MTF is pretty weak, maybe Harris blog is a good source?

Harri has not withdrawn Im just guessing it might be a possibility they signed up with no intention of playing so Henry could repair with Luke. Their ranking would need to be within that of the first alternate which its not currently but likely some of the top teams withdraw. Henry and Luke share a coach.

I dont have any additional info apart from listening to podcasts or reading Harris blog.

Looks like this event is now back on track to complete tomorrow, as planned. Top half on schedule, bottom half play two rounds today.

Thanks wolf for such a comprehensive and informative response. It's a nightmare for doubles players trying to plan their schedule.

Nys/Zielinski double faulted when they were 9-5 up in the MTB and again at 9-9. Cheers boys.

Joe and Rajeev have hauled themselves up to 12th in the race this week and a title will put them equal 9th.

Lots of season left and its all on hardcourts, so hopefully this is the start of a good spell for the chaps.
