Oh dear. Poor Katie. She still looks in lots of pain with her back. Had to have the physio pack her bag for her. I wonder if she will persevere or she'll be having those conversations again about considering quitting?

It was heartbreaking to see Katie in such pain. Really gutsy to take the set to a tie break, but she wasn't able to unload on the forehand due to the pain in her lower back. There wasn't any option but to retire from the match. Tennis is brutal.
I went to the second day of qualis at Roehampton and was much impressed with the tenacity and retrieving skills of the Japanese players. This was obviously even more in evidence today. Four Japanese won all in three sets. The duration of these matches was 3h 25m, 3h 15m, 2h 59 m and 2h 33m.

i hope not but it's rather worrying that her back problems are still continuing.
