To be fair she was quite high up on the alts list. I'm pretty sure all the Brits above her are already in the draw. There are also 5 WC's, isn't that more than usual.
I wonder though if any of her ranking points giving her that place on Alts list are in fact due to previous wildcards? If I'm not mistaken sometimes MD WC in some level events get a point or more even if they lose?
Could be a bit more imaginative in wc choice I think. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes, but could well be the thought that if both your parents were pro players then you may well have more chance than others.

Yes, it's a good point and what a lot of others will be saying - it becomes circular
It's not a question of what's allowed (that's almost certainly correct) but what is justified or 'fair' - which is not a black and white question obviously but has to be addressed
Was hoping maybe a third 'surprise' win would happen too - after all, it's not adding much home advantage if simply the better ranked players win (like Lauryn and Dani)
But it's looking a little slim pickings on that front
Isa Lacy, Abi Amos and Eliz have lost
Grace has lost the first set 1-6
Sophie Bekker has put up a good fight but lost the first set in a TB and is down in the second
Yes, four straight-set losses out of four now and as CD says, Lauryn and Dani look the only possible chance of a win as Sophie loses and Hep goes down a a double break.
