Weeks 31-32 - Olympics - Roland-Garros, Paris, France - Clay

A better second set but the Canadians serve excellently in the MTB and win it easily. Feel for Heather, she had such high hopes for a medal here but they really undid themselves by failing to complete the first set comeback. Joe wasn't playing great and it hurt them in the MTB that he was missing first serve and fluffing returns.

Ugh.

At least Andy and Dan won.

Simple question. Will there be a 3rd/4th place playoff or do both losing semifinalists get a bronze medal ?

I believe so! I'd love a final between Andy and Rafa! Can only dream.

Certainly in past years there have been bronze medal matches in all 5 formats and I dont see that changing. So, no, winning the QF doesnt guarantee a medal, I am afraid

How on earth did they get away with that?

They were brilliant especially Evans until the middle of the second - complete opposite of the first match.

They nearly won it in the 2nd set but gille (i think) shanked a shot that went in.

Both teams were tight. It wasnt pretty, but it was hard to doubt them even match point down!

Its great seeing Andy but Dan seems to be having so much fun!

Does anyone wonder if Andy might change his mind - not full time, but maybe to come back and play the slams in doubles, possibly Dan (given Dans singles is such a drain), for one last few hurrahs?
