Week 29 - ITF W50 - Nottingham, Hard

Last three matches on court now, and then I'll do a roundup. We are guaranteed at least four qualifiers at the moment - and if Sophie wins there is the possibility of eight.

Jaqui O came through a nail-biter - watched the third-set TB - well done to her - not easy

Sophie and Eliz doing the business nicely

Jaquelyn also won. I thought sh was down and out when her opponent was serving for the match and had match points.

She now has a WTA ranking. Well done !

I cannot remember ever seeing a better set of results for GB women at any stage of any tournament than this.

9 wins out of 10 in GB v non-GB matches in qualifying for a W50 must be some kind of record

Indeed, while not as tough as some QR1s I've seen for home W25s in the past, still 5 of the 9 were unranked players vs ranked seeded opponents

Are you sure, the addict? the table I have for a W50 says 1 point for a QR1 win, 2 points for a FQR win and 6 for a main draw win (plus 1, I think for being there in the first place.

You are right - I copied the wrong line. I'll edit mine to save confusion.
(Shouldn't try and copy on the phone !)
