RE: Bogdanovic v Saoudi - RG qualies rd1

A very close 6th game, Saoudi has had 2 bps which were both saved and Alex has had at least 3 game points. It's now deuce 6 I think.

Ad Bogdanovic 4 - c'mon alex take it this time

5-1. That was an ominously long game

i would guess al is strggueling with his 1st serve in this game, have sene it b4 with him, as soon as it goes it can be a real fight.

Would you say that Alex's 1st serve is the key to his game ? Is it a bigger weapon that his forehand ?

Luckily Alex held on and is now 5-1 up.

15-15 on the Saoudi serve

i think its fairly key, the swing he can get on it can really open the court up after the return, but in comparision his 2nd is quite easy, i think his oppontnets often return down the line too which is hard. i think against higher opposition the players start to read his serve better tho.

al should have enough in the bag for this set, but he needs to start strong in the 2nd or it could be a differnt story.

Come on Boggo!

Where are you all getting the scoreboard from? The one on the FO site comes up blank for me

Yes, it's all laid out but there are no matches showing, just blank boxes.

The 'matches in progress' page is now working so I'll just use that.

There's two FO scoreboards. You can download the IBM pop-up one which is marginally faster. I don't use that one as whenever I have done in the past, the Brits I'm following tend to lose so I believe that the IBM scoreboard is bad luck and jinxes them.

I'm using the html scores index scoreboard with the flashing boxes.

However that seems to have frozen, it's been stuck on 5-2 to Boggo for a while now.

Interesting info, thanks Count. His serve has quite a skiddy action, do you think that's why it's most effective on indoors and grass ?

I agree, I think he needs to go for his 2nd serve a bit more. Like Andy Murray, he's often too content just to topspin it into court.

Boggo serving for the set but Saoudi has a bp. C'mon Alex don't let him back in.

Alex should still be able to close this set out but it looks like we're in for a tight 2nd set, these last few games have been really close after Alex was dominating at the start.

Deuce

Ad Saoudi
