Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - men's DOUBLES

I love watching Arthur playing doubles

And Charlie's pretty good too

But Arthur is just all over the place, great anticipation, and ball skills

The two thoroughly deserved it

(and after all the reports of the French guy's spat with Taylor Fritz, I wasn't too sad he lost either )

Wow, great win by Charlie and Arthur. I had no idea what their doubles skills were like (pretty good, apparently, from CD's comments earlier! smile) so wasn't really expecting a win here. Well done, boys!

Charlie's actually more highly ranked in doubles than in singles (185 compared with 248).  wink

There's definitely something about guys who've done the US college route - they get SO much doubles coaching, and practice, and doubles matches, it really shows

But Arthur has something over and above, IMO - great to watch

Oh, it's definitely my fault (for not paying enough attention) that I underestimated them! I was aware that Charlie's on the rise in singles with his recent successes but hadn't really registered any doubles peformances from him (or Arthur).

But yes on the players who've been the college route. I'd say it'a not only the coaching but how competitive college tennis seems to be and how it helps players develop the ability to close out matches.

Certainly a pity with their form, and the seed in their bracket being the #16, not much better ranked than them.

 Yeah, that was my feeling,

meanwhile, Lloyd and Rojer are a set ahead 7-6 and in a second set tie break versus the 14th seeds

Good chance of the quarters there, I'd have thought....
