Weeks 27-28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass)

Graveyard shift not court. I was there yesterday on Court 18 for the Lily match. Crowd not woken up yet.
Boulter had same against Harmony Tan. Put it on first on Court 1 if needs be.

It might have been better for Emma to be facing a higher ranked player .

Theres a lot of pressure on her to win this match .

Nope, I'll take the easier looking match thank you very much. Yes, there will be expectation and pressure but in the round yes I'd definitely take it for a L16 match.

 Yes, me too biggrin

Of course she might come unstuck - it's always possible

But Lulu Sun rather than Padosa, or Iga, or Rybakina or whoever

Yes, any day

Couldn't get near Court 18 on Tuesday when Harriet played 1st.

Said it a few days ago Emma could easily make quarters here and only one win away

If Emma beats Sun she is likely to play Yastremska WR27 in the QF. Emma has played her twice before and each time Emma had a good lead when Yastremska retired, she has a good chance of getting to the SF against Coco Gauff.

Possible reasons for the scheduling
She needs to play early because she has doubles later in the day.
Neither Harriet or Wang are of sufficient interest to international broadcasters above those scheduled on the 2 main show courts.
The BBC may have requested an 11am start to be able to show it without it interfering with the showing of the matches on the main show courts on their linear broadcasts.

The win today took Emma back into the live rankings top 100 at 92.

Yastremska's out, she lost to Vekic in a match that moved to Court 1, so it will either be Donna or Badosa if she gets past Sun.

Yastremska went out to Donna Vekic after the match was moved to No 1 court. So it is Vekic or Badosa who will be in the QF.

There's still rain predicted tomorrow. In her position, I'd want to play first even if I didn't have doubles later.

As much as I love Katie Boulter, and appreciate all she has achieved and will go on to achieve, an Emma Raducanu in full flight is something else. Star quality and a flair that is quite compelling.

But just as importantly, Britain will leave Wimbledon with three women in the Top 100, when we were down to one. If Jodie can come back and Sonay stay injury free, that's a nice little group.

Just catching up - magnificent from Emma, and Sonay did herself proud over these two weeks. Whatever happens with Dart tomorrow, this has been a wonderful tournament for the women. Well done

Watched on big screen at friends house - what a treat. Little bit concerned about her playing mixed also, though unmissable for her really as an opportunity.

Who is the very animated guy in her box, next to Jane Od on right of screen ?
