Im sorry that was an absolute **** show. Katie not handling the pressure at all, 4 match points 2 on the forehand sky rocketed off the court. So disappointing, really thought this was her chance to have a good run at a slam.
Really pleased for Harriet though, clearly means a lot to her.
4 match points???
Think he's done a Katy Dunne and forgotten it was a MTB.
Not a great match at all. Whilst Harriet won, I do think she needs to take a hard look at herself. Sobbing in the middle of a tiebreak is not particularly professional and I think it could well have put Katie off. Given she had previously accused Katie of being unprofessional. . .
Still I hope she can keep going, continue to play well and I wish her well

Boulter has had a fantastic grass court season, is currently still top 30, which is a great achievement. This match-up was so specific; if it had been anyone else, I think Katie and indeed Harriet would have been able to use a one sided crowd to their advantage, and they couldn't. Weird situation, weird emotions. Some terrible tennis - but great fighting from both. Boulter could use a couple of weeks off in all honesty. She's made of tough stuff. Let's all get behind Harriet!

Are you serious?
This opportunity clearly means everything to Harriet and as she said in her post match interview she wears her heart on her sleeve. Its not a crime to have emotions and be passionate about what you do.
I suggest you wobble your hard and have a long hard look at yourself.
Im really pleased for Harriet. She has had a tough year or so and I for one am pleased to see her slowly climbing back up the rankings. No excuse for Katie, ran out of steam after a very good grass court season. Needs a rest now.

Obviously Harriet did not want to be crying - it was not like she was weaponising her tears to distract Katie intentionally. However, I think it likely did affect Katie nevertheless. Both these things can be true; there's no need for drama. Huge respect to Katie for offering the hug at the end; she is a class act all the way and as others have said, will I'm sure be right as rain in a short time.
Terrible quality of tennis unfortunately. Glad Katie gave Harriet a lesson in class and decorum by offering the hug - far better loser than Harriet has shown herself to be. Bit of a shame as Katie could have gone deep but would be shocked if Harriet got any further.

Much as I would have preferred Katie to win (more aggressive game), if Katie was put off by the tears then it is Katie who is 'unprofessional'
It's part of the profession, to deal with such things, and far more
That's pro tennis and there's a lot Katie should learn from that match
(That said, I agree with those who said Katie is classy, and good on her. She's got dubs to come; I hope she gets over this one v quickly and enjoys the rest of Wimbly - and, yes, it's hard to see Harriet going much further but, hey, why not.....and the last 32 is already pretty good )

Harriet does need to grow up a bit and maybe develop a few other interests. She strikes me as just too one dimensional with her apparently strict early to bed etc and that tennis just maybe means too much to her ( no real excuse for her attitude to opponents and officials at times but maybe a part ). I have to admit I just don't like seeing that kind of reaction from a professional sportsperson in the middle of a match.
Think this will be the toughest loss of Katies career so far. She has been really struggling against players she has been expected to beat of late, not sure if that has always been a problem? Was very tentative against Martic, María and Dart but excellent against Pliskova and Ostapenko
