Yes, I think so
No guarantees but I've arrived twice at about 11 and both rimes they've asked do you have a ticket, if so, go this way, if not, go over there to the ticket office, so to speak
So I take it from that that, yes, you can buy them on the door

When I was leaving I saw people with paper tickets (only available on site on the day). They scan your tickets on the way out as well as on the way in. So there were tickets available on site today. I'm sure they could up the attendance by say another 500 without it being too crowded.

Sorry I didnt get to meet anyone today. Pretty certain that the addict was on the opposite side of the court to me for a couple of matches but nowhere near enough to talk to. Good day but so hot and heartbreaking to watch Katy lose. Yes, they did announce the 10 point tie-break - she obviously missed it. Enjoyed watching Marni, Millie, Hannah from a distance, Katy and Mika.

KATY

I saw a fair bit of the first set, and the third set from about half-way through

The tennis was very good, very close, Katy played her game, played well, nothing much to say

As far as the third-set TB goes, I have a huge amount of sympathy on a personal level - she was SO elated, and then SO embarrassed, and then SO upset - it was just horrible to watch - heartbreaking

But I have zero sympathy on a professional level.

Whether it's her or her team (or both), I don't care. The point is there's not much homework you have to do for a match: you've got to turn up on time, with the right shoes, and know what format you're playing

And it's your profession, it's your most important match of the year

And I don't think it's a 'natural' or 'normal' mistake

I saw six players in MTBs today - and five of them made no mistake - only Katy

(If she'd looked at the results from earlier in the day, she's have seen Paquet's match result)

So I feel really sorry for her as a person but the message is harsh but simple: do your homework, prepare properly, this is serious, it makes a difference

Thanks to all those for their commentary today. Good to hear that Hannah stepped up and played a very 'adult' match. Learning all the time. Important I think that one of the youngsters won through when they were under the spotlight for getting wild cards.

Just to note re Hannah:

She plays Linda F tomorrow, who played a real nail-biter today against Hon - that also went to a MTB - I watched quite a lot of it and she was playing very well, but it was really hard-going

Without wishing her ill, I'm hoping she's a bit tired tomorrow

Quite possible - I was in the stand for the first two sets of Katy's match (two rows in front of Katy's mum) - then on the opposite side for the final set after a coffee break.

I have just looked through my photos and they are probably as good as I'll ever take. A lot of good ones of Katy in action - but I don't think I'll be offering them to her after today.

As I left today I specifically asked a lady on the gate whether my friend could buy a ticket tomorrow. She replied that they hadn't sold out on either of the first two days. Should be no problem.

Linda has been the Brit basher this summer, with wins over Rajecki, Murray-Sharan and Miyazaki, having lost to Appleton. Today was her first win against a non Brit!

Steven - the mystery player was Jasmine Conway (confirmed by Holly) - I hadn't seen her before.

I was courtside for Hannah's match (in davis cup t-shirt) and echo some people's thoughts on her performance. Thought she played an excellent match and mixed up her shots well and knew exactly when to attack. Was right near her coach/es and was interesting to hear their comments. I think at one point they said serve out wide on the ad side and gave some good tactical advice at key moments. Loved her celebration at the end too and good crowd/atmosphere on a smaller court. Really impressive win!

Yes great job putting out a seed. Well done Sonay.

It was all-business Sonay today, she was very impressive!
