This all said, is there any evidence to suggest Tommy will drop out ?!

None at all.  Given that he has been given a Bye in the L32 and probably won't be scheduled until Weds, I think he will play.

He also said in his interview with Russell Fuller yesterday that he wanted to get into the top 10 (he's currently WR 12) & that the only way to do that was to win tournaments.

Paul has just won the biggest title of his career. Grand slam next week, I don't see any reason why he would play

Big points in the biggest events ( and there are none bigger than the Slams ) is another way. So it would seem a good idea to maximise his chances in Slams, by say not overplaying going into them.

Not saying he will or wont - or suggesting what he should do - just wondering if there is any actual evidence as opposed to conjecture?

Separating the rules from the conjecture, a lucky loser can replace any player withdrawing before their first match.

Im happy Billy won, Jake will definitely make top 100 probably much higher but I feel like this is Billys chnace to make it into the top 100 this year

Agreed! I really like both of them and hated seeing this draw, but Jake is at the start of what I hope will be a great journey, while Billy almost certainly has relatively little time left so "needs" the win more. (That's assuming neither of them has injury woes. What kinds of offerings do you think the Tennis Gods like?)

It will do Mr Harris's morale the power of good if he beats Mr Paul on the pitch, not by having him chicken out.

Paul pulls out of Eastbourne.

Replaced by Broom who gets a first round bye and will take on Harris in the 2nd round.

One of them will be an Eastbourne Quarter Finalist
