Was on court for all of the Searle match. Played well from the second set onwards and was the more aggressive player I thought. Backhand can be a concern at times though.
Watched first set of Fery but Nishioka was a class above. Was impressed with Ferys game though.

Saw the end of Charlie and like others have said scraped over the line.

Back again on Tuesday.

All these wins over higher ranked players is really giving a great buzz around British Tennis right now. So many talented players who are really fighting out there and getting the results.

Amazing what a bit of grass can do, after the tribulations of the red stuff!

I think Charles has lost the 5 at the end of his ranking, otherwise he would be MD seeded at Wimbledon!

As Seagull implied Charlie should be cross about that loss. He should have won it in 2 (had 3 matchpoints at 5-4* which he did little with) and should have won it in 3 (tame game when serving at 5*-4 in the decider)

Henry has just lost the opening set 7-6(6) against Max Purcell, who defended well towards the end of the tiebreak

And Giles lost the opening set 7-5 to Shang

Judging by the mens scores , instinct is the grass is playing fast , is that correct ?

FQR: (q6) Max Purcell (AUS) WR 101 d. (qWC) Henry Searle WR 570 7-6(6) 6-4

Henry held with Max to 5-4 in the second, saving one matchpoint, getting a time violation which disconcerted him, and he lost the next two points
