Katie won the first 9 games before Vic levelled in the second set. I was starting to get worried that Katie had overdone it and wouldn't make it to the end of the match, but so far so good and we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Now she's finished college, I wonder if we will see Vic in ITFs or if this was just a one-off not going to miss playing at the All England? She hasn't played any pro event since before she went to college in 2019.

Isa wins 7-5 in the third, which may suggest more about where her tennis is at the moment than that Tara is back firing on all cylinders...

I think that will be a tough match for Katie if they both get through.

Wherever Millie ended up in the draw (apart from v Katy or Katie in the first round which would have been close) she was always likely to reach the final round. Beth was the unlucky one today and I can't see ELiz taking a set. The biggest question is whether Katie is fit enough to play three matches in two days.

My main worry is both Katy and Katie getting through unscathed.

I actually think Naiktha Bains is the best grass court player in the field

Just looking at R2, I think Katy Dunne is the most vulnerable, both from her own health point of view, and that Sophie D-L has the potential to be very dangerous, if everything's firing

Naiktha and Millie seem pretty certain. And Katie Swan is obviously returning from injury too, but her vulnerability doesn't seem so acute here

Ooh that's a bold statement. I do think she is a natural grass court player, but would put her below a fully fit Katy and think Millie could have more potential. I actually expected Millie to win more easily today.

Naiktha certainly didnt have it easy in round one. That said, I think she and Millie will qualify, Katie Swan is the dark horse, IMO.

I'd love to see 1 of these Women emulate Marcus Willis. Not sure Katie will have the fitness currently to play 2 competitive matches in a day.
