Week 25 - ITF W100 - Ilkley, Great Britain (grass)

Cut is quite high and most girls are in Birmingham or need to hedge their bets in case of rain for playoffs. I don't know if EWS signed in with someone but she wasnt going to get a wildcard.

I expect EWS has gone to Birmingham with Gabi and Erin. I'm sure you are right about the play-offs though - there are a few players that could have paired up to make the cut. No mention on the ITF draw page of wildcards though.

I'm not surprised really, as the combined rankings aren't very high.

Ella has a very winnable match against Nigina
Nigina looked pretty dodgy against Isa yesterday
And it's no better today
She's very tall, good levers and so has a penetrating shot when she's on it
But she looks SO uncomfortable on grass, so scared of falling, really not wanting to move
Do hope Ella can take advantage

Lauryn has a really hard ask
Maya Joint is only 18, still a junior I think, but she's been rising really fast in adults
And seems pretty comfortable on grass, well balanced, moves well

Is it still raining over there? Surprised they arent putting some of the final qualies matches on to indoor courts by now, or the doubles? I realise some have started the FQR match, but can they not move those indoors?

Except they are still walking round with leave blowers trying to dry the court....

Naiktha's match appears to have been moved indoors but is yet to start on live scores.

Presumably they will try and complete the matches already underway on grass, and start others on the indoor courts?

Brollies have gone up again.
Anything not started should go Indoors.

Ranah's match has actually started and Naiktha's is warming up although both were supposed to start at 17:30.

Yup that seems to be what's happening.
