5 x GBR
4 x France
3 x Australia
2 x Canada
1 x Thailand
1 x Ukraine
No Russians, no Czechs....
Now, it's being said that the UK authorities are making it very difficult for Russian players to get visas - supposedly several of the top Russian youngsters are not playing Wimbledon Juniors because they can't get visas
But it' still an unusual balance
The Commonwealth wins, that's for sure (with a little room for embracing our 'friends' across the channel )

The mens draw has something like 6 or so French as well, they have certainly gone for Ilkley's charms in a big way!
Ranah saved multiple match points to recover from *2-5 in the second to a tiebreak, but then played a bad one and lost 6-1 7-6(0). Was wild swings of form as usual but some good tennis in there.
Be nice to see her get to a position of being able to play a consistent pro schedule.
That's a shame. Ella played well but missed two pretty routine backhands from 5-5* in the tiebreak to lose the first set. Her first serve has been pretty solid today especially the swingers but she doesn't seem to use her height as effectively as she could at times, watching today she's really not driving up with the legs at all.

But two backhand errors, forcing the ball, lost her the last two points in the tiebreak
7-6(5) to the Thai player
ADD: I agree, Paul. Ella is one of those players where the top half is better than the bottom half. She leads with her arm, and gets good whip etc. But her legs don't really do the work she needs (unlike Marni, for instance) - she doesn't drive into the ground and is often too much on her toes
Marni was playing well. And then Ponchet - with her horribly ugly forehand with the weird grip - suddenly hit a couple of lines - and the break happened and the hold
And we're now into a third

4-3 40-15*, loses the next 7 points to go down *0-40. Broken to 15. It's like she just flips a switch off when she thinks she's won the match and goes into shut down mode. Then of course because these girls are good and don't give up, she hasn't won the match at all and quickly turn it round and she then can't get herself back together. Horrible to watch (especially when it happens so often).
Even there, she had a break point after Ponchet got tight serving for it and just did absolutely nothing with it, then seems annoyed her opponent hasn't just done the decent thing and handed it to her. So frustrating after doing so well to get herself into the right position.
Ella fighting hard from a break down and then break points down to turn the second set in her favour *4-3.

Hopefully Sonay wins her match and is promoted to MDWC, leaving Ella free to take a QWC (I know it's only one tournament, but you can't argue with 4 wins in a row on grass).
Some really good depth and placement on the ball in that third set
Coz the Thai player was very solid, very good balance and movement, difficuly to outmanouervre, but even she got a little frustrated as that third set went on
