Week 25 - ITF W100 - Ilkley, Great Britain (grass)

I guess it depends on whether Ranah fancies her chances against her next opponent, who I believe is Marino ranked 144.

Are players allowed to compete in two singles events in the same week?

The Wimbledon WC is an invitational event and yes you can start another event and leave to play the wc.
I suspect there will be a rather hefty fine for leaving an ITF event without a medical reason, so this rarely if ever happens.

I wonder who will be the leading junior on the senior rankings after the grass court season?
I suspect Mimi and Hannah will get some main tour QWC which will boost their rankings.

 Not in ITF

But I believe they can if they're not governed by the same body

Well, there is only Eastbourne and Wimbledon to come, and they both have QWC for Wimbledon (as does Mika) so it is fairly limited scope to change things in the period between now and end of Wimbledon...just one event!

Their ranking is pretty close, so will be who does best in qualies.

I forgot Ranah and Ella are no longer juniors or it would have been more interesting ...

Mimi and Madeleine made so many errors.

That was a very good match. Maddie was probably just about the best of the four and had to do a lot of work as Mimi's court positioning was all over the place (as you would probably expect from a youngster who is still learning) but she was tight in the MTB and Given came up with some cracking winners, especially the return winner to save match point in the match tiebreak. Very impressive.

OOP shows that the plan is to get through R2 and QF's tomorrow and be through to the semis for Friday in singles and doubles. Back on schedule. Not sure if that means the doubles final will push to Saturday, hope so as I will get to see a bit more tennis!
