I always thought that Olivia was the stronger of the Lissey & Olivia pairing but Lissey certainly played a big part in really good times they had together.
I watched Lissey and Freya at Surbiton this year, and Lissey and Liv last year. Last year was certainly a much better pairing, but I haven't actually watched a stream recently so hard to tell why the results aren't coming. I'm sure PaulM has a good idea though.
Ostapenko as defending champion has just gone out in straight sets. Last year's runner-up, Krejikova is currently below Katie on live rankings and needs to win two more matches than Katie to overtake her again (initially anyway - haven't looked at what happens in the later rounds).
Lissey looked a lot more self assured on court with Liv than when I have watched her recently with Freya. It seems a bit of a were both decently ranked, if we pick up some wins, we will get grass court wildcards rather than anything else. Theyre both too error prone, whereas Lissey suited Livs solidness especially at net. Neither Freya nor Lissey possess the doubles skills Liv does.

The rankings at the end of this tournament decide the Wimbledon seedings. Krejikova has had fitness issues of late and has not won a match since early February.
Looking forward to being there this week. Have attended nearly every year since this started. Great shame it is being downgraded.
The level of player is a bit higher than Nottingham but Katie has a great chance here, especially with Ostapenko crashing out. Weather forecast looks reasonable too.

Its a really interesting match up Millie playing her team mate of a year ago from NC State . Im sure neither of them would have chosen that match. Shnaider was playing position #1 at NC State while still playing the pro circuit and Millie then #3 . Millie ended 2022-3 as national college ranking #17 with Shnaider ranked #4 . But this year just ended after she left Millie carried NC State almost single handed at position 1 to end at the number 2 ranked college player.
Its a very difficult one to call. I agree that Shnaider has no form of any kind on grass and that should give Millie the edge.
