So I get wrapped up with work today and miss all the action.

Wow. Go Billy.  Every time I think he may have maxed out his ranking, he just keeps on moving up.  Currently into the top 150 in live rankings at WR144.

Annabel Croft mentioned his camper van days on the BBC coverage but sadly didn't mention who did his laundry during Spanish Futures events back in the day, very remiss of her.

Evans says he heard a crack in his groin, but is more worried about his knee - he will have a scan in 48 hours, once the injury has settled down

Im so pleased for Billy Harris

I remember years ago reading Bobs stories about him doing the laundry for him etc. its so nice to see hes absolutely maximising his career.

Surely Wimbledon WC locked up.

Live ranked 144, and GB #5 - has to be top of the list

I'm guessing today's victory against WR 32 must be a career best ranking scalp too.

Any one see the Evo fall or have a link to it?

It was pretty much out of sight as  behind the base line and you only saw part of him, but  he really shrieked in pain.

Actually slightly better, 7-4 now. His previous best win by ranking was Bautista Agut in a challenger semifinal then ranked 40. For anyone interested.

Etcheverry 32 Queens 6-4 3-6 6-3

Shang 92 Surbiton 2024 6-3 7-6

OConnell 67 Manama 2024 7-6 Ret

Lestienne 99 Quimper 2024 7-6 7-6

Bautista Agut 40 Malaga 2023 7-5 6-4

Lestienne 71 Queens 2023 3-6 7-5 6-3

Purcell 99 Las Franquesas del Valles 2023 7-6 7-6

Defeats:

Rinderknech 90 Lille 2024 6-4 5-7 4-6

Struff 28 Sofia 2023 6-7 4-6

Draper 91 Bergamo 2023 2-6 3-6

From Jonathan Jurejko's round-up of the day's events ii the BBC web site:

Missing Wimbledon would be tough to swallow - Evans

Evans, 34, fell at the back of the court in the first game of the deciding third set, letting out a loud cry and immediately signalling he could not continue.

The world number 59 has endured a tough season and looked to be in tears as he sat on his chair.

Having not won on the main ATP Tour since March, Evans played superbly to win the first set 6-4, before Nakashima levelled by taking the second 6-3.

But the British number three's hopes of earning a morale-boosting victory were dashed in the cruellest manner.

"I'm heartbroken at the minute. It's tough," said Evans, who will have a scan in the next 48 hours to determine the extent of the injury.

"If I miss the Olympics or Wimbledon, it would be a tough one to swallow, no doubt."

Gorgeous Jack looked great today and that shot to get to 40-15 in the final game was amazing . Its a real shame he has to meet Alcaraz so early in the tournament as Id strongly fancy him to beat anyone else in the draw .

And I think Alcaraz will still be worried about playing him . So I still think Jack has a decent chance against him .
