I mean, I don't know Henry, but Queens is a pretty swanky place, still rather 'up itself', to be honest. To me, he did look rather tight and stressed. Even his supporters didn't seem at ease.
I'm guessing that a boy who's only just turned 18 could well feel a little overawed by it all - he certainly seemed to be (and in a way that he almost certainly wouldn't have been at Ilkley)
But maybe that's the intention - to get the experience there, asap
I don't think any experience wasted at this stage. And he's off the back of three good wins in Nottingham and a close match against Dan. If he'd won against Hijikata, maybe a chance of a wild card into Wimbledon main draw. As it is, think qualies would be a sensible approach.
I'm still expecting a MD Wimbly WC
They've given a quali one to the U18 champion. Which is fine. But Henry is a step ahead - he's the Junior Wimbly winner from last year, and no longer playing juniors (despite being able to do so)
We'll see but I think he's going MD
No issue at all if they gave Henry a main draw wild card. As you said previously, wild cards by their very nature are to give opportunities. Was just thinking purely in terms of ATP point winning chances.
True, it's some charity thingy and - gor blimey - you get to see Henman or some such play a doubles match
But basically it's £40 for four matches of tennis
Of which the prime one was Kokkinakis - but Taro Daniel withdrew - so the poor paying public have three matches (none of which are very high profile, with the best will in the world)
I'm 'happy' to go along with Andrew Castle, if forced
To me, he's like Terry Wogan, or John Inverdale -he's the charming buffoon sort of guy, who's got a pleasant voice, smiles a lot, and is the fall-guy for someone who actually knows what he/she's talking about
He's also pretty good at gossip and good for a laugh as he makes some utterly ridiculous comments (the fact that he couldn't tell one Asian woman from another last year, and thought that having an electrician for a dad was a huge story, at least provided wonderful fodder for some hilarious social media 'taking the mick' put-downs)
John Lloyd is just an utter downer - knows nothing, doesn't care, sounds grumpy, a completely unpleaseant experience

I thought it might have been hip, but do hope he's ok for W'don, he's a real fave
Yes, you might well be right - I wasn't 100% sure it was his knee - but net result the same
I'm just glad it wasn't me - as I was walking round the outside of the site on Saturday I walked past one of the very discrete side entrances and Tiafoe was just arriving and getting out of the car, with all his bags, and we nearly collided and neither of us were looking where we were going !
