Hugely disappointing loss for Jack, hes failed to capitalise on the draw opening up and follow on his big win yesterday. But onwards and upwards hopefully he can have a good Wimbledon.

 What a strange comment

I don't know, there's something in what twentytoone says.....

It's not HUGELY disappointing, Jack has done really really well

But I think it's fair to say that, after you've just beaten the world #2, playing brilliantly, a fan can be slightly disappointed that he went on to lose against the world #13, I don't think that's completely unreasonable - you're just saying you got your hopes up, you were praying that he'd play a blinder like yesterday and you're slightly disappointed he didn't

TBH, I expect Jack will be slightly disappointed too

It's not taking anything away from what he's achieved this weel

Yes thats more what I meant am just a massive Jack fan and thought this was his chance to really break through and Cement himself as a real grandslam and big title contender. but my comment was probably a little harsh And said out of emotion rather than rational thinking.

 We've all been there. smile

Just had the chance to watch the final highlights - I like Pauls game a lot, really inventive and interesting to watch and he seems like a really nice guy; looking forward to seeing how he goes at Wimbledon!

I completely accept your point (and twentyones to be fair, I didnt mean to be rude). But after 4 clay defeats in a row I think he would have taken an atp win and QF in consecutive weeks, losing to someone who is much higher ranked (although hopefully not for long). Its always disappointing to lose; I guess its just the hugely that I disagreed with. A QF and a break before Wimbledon is not the worst thing in my view, especially with Jacks injury/fitness issues previously (which seem to be improving rapidly).

You might be interested in this mini-doc about how Jack has been working on improving his strength and conditioning.

He comes across ridiculously well. So refreshingly pleasant for someone with his talent and high profile.

 It is dreadful, isn't it?

Certainly is, especially as to seems to encourage Bouncy & Lloyd to talk more loudly over it!  no

From a contributor to the "You say" section of the Sunday Times Culture section yesterday:

Whose terrible idea was it to have pop songs playing between points at the tennis at Queen's?  This is tennis!

I think I heard it at Eastbourne last week, too, though that was at least ABBA, so easier on the ear.  wink

Ok, they had it when I was there on the qualifying Saturday - and I quite liked it
