What an amazing day for the Brits at Queen's:

L16:  (WC) Billy Harris WR 162 defeated (Q) Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (FRA) WR 67 by 4 & 5  biggrin    jump.gif

And on his Queen's Centre Court debut, too!

QF:  (WC) Billy Harris WR 162 vs Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) WR 30 (CH = 15 last June)

Billy has won 77k euros over the 3 grass events hes played so far; another win tomorrow would add 60k euros to that haul. Not sure what Wimbledon round one guarantees, but he will have done well over this spell of events!

As Stu Fraser's article (linked above) states, at least £60,000.

I assumed that the "at least" meant that he could in fact win his first round match & thus be guaranteed at least £93,000 for reaching the second round, but I'm pretty hopeless with figures & other statistics...

Not having to listen to the commentators is one of the best things about actually being there (yes, I know it's possible to mute the TV, but still!)

Your boy did good, Bob, your boy did good!

I unexpectedly got to be there today and it was wonderful watching those too matches, both Jack and Billy looked like they'd been beating the kind of players they beat for years.

This may have been mentioned on this thread already, but Billy has now won twice as many matches as he has lost against top 100 players (W8 L4), the kind of record against top 100 players that many of those already in the top 100 could only dream of!
