L16:  Marcos Giron (USA) WR 50 vs (6) Jack Draper WR 40

I read an article today that confirmed that Andy Murray hasn't broken serve since March which is some stat.

From Stuart Fraser's article, to which I posted a link earlier on Andy's dedicated thread & on the '24 Olympics thread:

The 2012 and 2016 Olympic men's singles champion had harboured hopes that the switch from clay to grass would bring him better results, but it did not materialise in Stuttgart. Murray failed to convert three break points, making this the third consecutive match in which he has failed to break his opponent's serve.

"I've been struggling with that in the past few events," Murray said. "I haven't broken serve for a few matches and that is usually a strength of mine. I was just not able to get any breaks. On a surface like this, which is pretty quick here, you need to be clinical when the chances come. He was and I wasn't."

Saw a few points of Jack on the bbc sport news this morning - courts looked really worn and cut up at the back, a lot worse than Nottingham , for example.

Rain affecting play in Stuttgart, with Jack 5-7 2-1*.

CD has a similar tale ... in the Suttgart doubles thread :

"Excellent entertaining first set from Jack and the Fo'

But Frances won, by a whisker, 7-5

Second set had begun, on serve

And now there's a rain delay there too"

Oops - didn't think there'd be a specific doubles thread for an event like Stuttgart

Thanks, Indy

SF:  Brandon Nakashima (USA) WR 70 (CH = 43 in October 2022) vs (6) Jack Draper WR 40

Nakashima had a walkover against Struff (7).

That takes Draper up to live ranked 33. One more win could well guarantee a Wimbledon seeding with nothing to defend next week.
