I think this same conversation already took place on page 1 of this same thread !

Oh sorry! Will shut up and get ready to watch Carlos. Looks like it should be a good match.

Not at all ! We're allowed to have the same conversation smile

Because it's never the 'same'

And after all, otherwise most conversations on here would never happen (will Emma get back to her peak, when is Andy retiring, we can go round indefinitely, that's the point of a forum smile)

Sonay lost in two sets to Marino - there was some reasonable parts but the result was never in doubt

Full singles draw before final qualifiers taken from the TF message board so may change. Really this is a pretty weak 250 and I'd be disappointed not to get at least one GB semi-finalist from this. The second section is very weak. Any decent qualifier would fancy their chances of coming through that mini section.
Wide open. Jabeur will start favourite I guess but she's been terrible at times this year. Same too with Kostyuk. Depends what sate of mind she is in. Katie Boulter should go far in this. Will be interesting to see how sharp Emma will be after another fairly lengthy spell with no matches.

O. Jabeur (1) v C. Osorio
Y. Miyazaki v Qualifier
H. Watson v K. Day
A. Parks v K. Pliskova (6)

C. Burel (4) v D. Saville
C. Bucsa v D. Parry
Qualifier v Qualifier
Qualifier v L. Zhu (7)

M. Frech (5) v N. Hibino
T. Maria v E. Arango
V. Golubic v Qualifier
H. Dart v K. Boulter (3)

C. Dolehide (8) v F. Jones
A. Krueger v Y. Wang
Qualifier v E. Raducanu
D. Snigur v M. Kostyuk (2)

Emily getting on top now - on a serious note, shed be a really decent mixed partner for someone at Wimbledon. Liam in an all Lancashire pairing?

She'd be better with one of the doubles specialists - someone like Cash or Johnson.

Big ranking rise on the way for Emily - around 44 places from last week and another 20 from this tournament (and counting !)

Ive mentioned it before, but her dad , Mike, was a sort of player I looked up to when young. He won the Ilkley event a couple of times and played doubles sometimes with my coach, Simon Ickringill. I loved Mikes attacking game style

I would say it's pretty similar in strength to last year's event where Sakkari and Haddad Maia were top two seeds but lost early. In fact no seeds reached the quarterfinals.

Of course GB had both finalists, three semifinalists and four quarterfinalists last year. Can't see more than one quarterfinalist this year, but impossible to say how Raducanu will play after several weeks off.
