Hev actually doing an ok job, but Pliskova is able to serve her way out of trouble. Every break point she got the Czech just served a bomb.

4-6 1-2*

Heather wins four games in a row to go up *4-2, but Pliskova wakes up and runs off a series of points with big hitting to level, and then break again.

Heather really unlucky, at *30-15 Pliskova got a very fortuitous net cord.

4-5*

Heather gets two break points. First saved with an ace. Forehand long on the second. Gets a third. Bullet first serve saves it. Ace brings up match point. Ace #13 to win it.

Heather loses 6-4 6-4. Good effort but that serve snuffed out most of her chances.

Well done Katie. I looked at the seeds in her section and thought it seemed reasonable but Ive missed Marla hanging around there!

Quite sobering that GB has only one woman in the Top 100 on the live rankings despite another week of fine performances in Nottingham. Harriet just outside Top 100, Heather just inside Top 200, and Jodie so unlucky with her injuries. Hoping that Raducanu can continue her climb, and Fran have a decent run of fitness.

It reinforces just how good a grass court season most of the girls had last year too. Nottingham they all picked up a shed load of points.

Indeed. Jodie's going to have to start again, while Harriet has a lot of points to defend over the coming weeks. Katie does too of course, but from a place of playing consistently well.

Emma's serve was on fire today, 11 aces plus numerous other unreturned serves. 6-2 6-2.

A real coup for the tournament organisers having the two ugliest strokes in world tennis on the bill - the Snigur forehand and the Norrie backhand.
