With Liam out of qualies for Ilkley (does he have a MD WC or has he withdrawn?) we have no British men in the MD or QD for singles, which is a real shame. I guess we will get the full quota of wild cards in both though. And just Luke J in the doubles as it stands.

I love Ilkley but because of its calendar position, for Brits, (with Queens, Birmingham, WC Play offs against it) the British entry is the thinnest of the British events. Next seasons calendar, from a purely Ilkley perspective, helps that a lot. Realise other events are - or arent - available in 2025

Could they give some opportunities to some of the younger players who have been making inroads in the last week or so? Im sure Mimi played there last year. Henry?

Quite possibly those are where the wild cards will go to, that type of player. It will need to be players not in Queens qualies (as they cant play two events - and Henry might get a Queens QWC?) ; or Birmingham qualies (which may impact one or two talented younget players) or not in the Wild Card Play offs (which will possibly impact?). So Ilkley always ends up being a bit of a GB hotch potch!

Thats not good considering it is one of the few events in the North of the country.

And it is a great event, just not really one that the Brits really do well in, on the whole - not like Surbiton or Nottingham etc. But next year, it will move into this weeks spot (ie where Nottingham currently is) so that will change things a lot for Ilkley, I think

What does the womens doubles landscape look like for Birmingham and, for that matter, Berlin? And Ilkley of course?

Real shame for some of those players - this was their chance to do something special - the weather is no one's fault, but hopes of upsets for a fair number of those has now gone by the by
