 Oh right

I didnt think they were streaming this as when you go onto the list of competition page I look for the red live button which wasnt next to the Surbiton tournament.

thanks CD

Coming into an event of this stature without match prep isn't really the greatest move. Both Isa and Ranah were pretty meek in their performances and didn't feel ready to me.

Yes, I guess it depends on options (for the LTA as well as the players) but it doesn't seem a great use of wildcards to give them to two players who have been away injured or whatever for several months (and weren't quite this level, really, even when they were at peak fitness i.e. fine to roll the dice if they were fit and healthy and prepared, even though it's a stretch, but a bit daft when they're not)

Do we assume that Hep is injured too? Or have I missed something?

Doubles draw is out. Plenty of GB interest, but apart from Beth and Tara they are all in the top half of the draw. Some very intriguing matches though.

L16:- Naiktha Bains (GBR) / Maia Lumsden (GBR) CR169 (102+67) [1] v Emily Appleton (GBR) / Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (GBR) CR420 (143+277)
L16:- Lauryn John-Baptiste (GBR) / Ranah Akua Stoiber (GBR) CR1729 (536+1193) v Emina Bektas (USA) / Aleksandra Krunic (SER) CR808 (709+99)

L16:- Harriet Dart (GBR) / Greet Minnen (BEL) CR181(116+65) [3] v Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Freya Christie (GBR) CR261 (122+139)
L16:- Madeleine Brooks (GBR) / Amelia Rajecki (GBR) CR636 (198+438) v Samantha Murray Sharan (GBR) / Eden Silva (GBR) CR324 (148+176)

L16:- Sarah Beth Grey (GBR) / Tara Moore (GBR) UNR (146+UNR) v Jessika Ponchet (FRA) / Bibiane Schoofs (NED) CR233 (136+97) [4]

The draw doesn't indicate wild cards, but Beth and Tara must have one, and also Lauryn and Ranah

SDL lost a really exciting first 7-5 to Tomlijanovic. Standard still pretty good in set 2 but SDL making more mistakes. Good performance by her.

Ah EWS didn't make it. Not a surprise given the ranking drop but it feels a little odd to have the UK grass court without her chipping and slicing away merrily all over the court.

Impressed by SDL - other Brits haven't really raised their games for the occasion at all today. The results were expected but performances weren't great. Still not sure how Freya managed to lose her match.

She's pretty tired now. Not been sure about the umpire... lots of wrong calls or mistakes!

Note, I am going there both Monday and Tuesday, so won't be able to post results or the main draw tomorrow evening. And if anyone else is going and wants to say hi then drop me a pm.

Think Naiktha Bains deserves some props. A great win over Martincova.

So do we think we are looking at pretty much all the GB pairings for the grass court season and Wimbledon wild card contention?

And do we think that Heather and Harriet will team up again?
