did he choke? doesnt look like it too much, just a tight match
is this no 3rd set TB new this year?

Hopefully there'll be a good match report on the LTA site later today. Barry Flatman looks to have upped his game lately in terms of reports.

They've posted the results of Jamie Baker and Morgan Phillips' futures wins which is better than normal but they really should have done a report on the homepage. To me that's much more important than the news that Likhovtesa is playing in Eastbourne this year.

The no 3rd set breaker rule in qualies matches has been going for as long as I've been following British tennis. Not sure exactly when it started but sometime before 1999.

All the best with that. Mine was due in last week, I know how it feels! Massive relief when you hand it in though!

Its all over. The wily veteran serves out to 0 for a 10-8 final set win.
For me that typifies Arvind Parmar. Look good for a while, lose concentration, fight back to give yourself a chance, bottle it, then choke.
That's why he'll never get any better. I say give all his woldcards to younger players with actual potential.
Rant over!
Boggo follows Mello and Van Lottum onto court 15. They are locked at 7-6 in the final set so could be soon or ages. That's good news for all you revisers!!!!!!!!!!!!
I shouldn't be laughing. I have 9000 words in by next Tuesday and I've only written 500!

What subject are you studying johnny ? Are you at uni ?

I agree with you about Parmar, he's had so many of these losses where he's looked to have been winning comfortably but then his opponent gets back in the match and eventually nicks it.

I remember one year in Aussie Open qualies where he was 5-1 up in the final set against Kevin Kim and he served for the match twice but ended up losing 8-6.

Boggo is on shortly. after the Van Lottum-Mello match on court 14.

In stats, I was doing well in past papers but had a bad one last night. Forgot the residual formula of y-a-bx and lost 8 marks and only got 55/75 which was bad !

Follows up on court 14 after Mello Van Lottum which is currently 8-8 in final set!

In other news -

I study Youth Work and Theology at the University of Chester for another 10 days, and then I become a bum who sponges off his wife!!!!!!!!

Van Lottum prevails!

Boggo should be on soon, and we can go through all this again.

Maybe on a different thread though as I noticed USF has set one up!

See you there peeps!

Residuals: I thought that it was observed value of y - value given by regression line but in fact I've now found that it's y-a-bx.

Boggo has started.

What's theology about, johnny ?

Study of God or Theos. To be honest it all goes over my head. I did a youth work diploma and then the Uni apprached me saying I could do a top up year for a YW and Theology degree. Degree in a year sounded good so I accepted.

Its all about philosophical arguments and interpreting the Bible (is it real, are there codes, what does it really mean etc...)

Also theres a lot of social science about how Christianity fits into modern society.

Its been interesting but I'll be glad to have finished.

Arvind's conqueror Wayne Arturs just qualified for the main draw, which makes me feel slightly better. He beat Stephane Robert who had previously beated Simon Greul. I don't think Arvind would have had a chance.
