Both players had high 1st serve percentages of 64% and 65% respectively. Chances on serve were few and far between with Parmar winning 83% of 1st serve points and 62% of 2nd serve points. Arthurs won 91% of 1st serve points and 67% of 2nd serve points. Arthurs powered down 5 aces.
Parmar continued to try to outdo Arthurs for consistency and in that respect he was succesful as the Aussie made 13 ues to Parmar's 6.
However, that was counterbalanced by Arthurs smashing 20 winners compared to just 7 from Parmar.
Despite the match being played on clay, Arthurs has attacked the net a lot and has been successful winning 65% of net points.
Arvind took WAyne to deuce in the second game of the set but Arthurs pulled through. Parpar then wobbled a bit himself taken to deuce twice but managed to hold for 2-1.
2nd qualifying seed Hyung Taik Lee is gone in the first round.
Top seed Simon Greul is 3 1 down in the final set to a frenchman, which is promising for Tims ranking battles! Robert just broke him again. 4-1 with a double break. Its looking like a bad day for seeds at the French Open qualifiers!

I agree, Arvind has the tendency to get a little tight when under pressure and I wouldn't be too confident at him serving to stay in the match.
He had chances in that last game but Arthurs held to 30.
Game 2 of this set was the first deuce since set 1 !
The winner of this match will play either John Van Lottum or Ricardo Mello. Mello was a set and a break up but Van Lottum fought back and it's now in a 3rd set.
Hyung-Taik Lee losing is a big upset ! Not that surprised about Simon Greul though, he's a very inconsistent player, still can't believe that Henman lost to him in Miami
In case anyone didn't realise, there's no tiebreak in this set. They just play until there's a break. With the way these two are serving, I wouldn't be surprised if the final set score is something like 10-8.
