I expected Jamie and Michael to win. lets hope Neal and
Michael can do better the next few weeks

Three set points missed in the second set. A disappointing clay court season for Jamie and Michael overall, despite a semifinal appearance in Madrid. Feels like their partnership has plateaued in 2024, and with Jamie taking over tournament director duties, I wonder if this might be his last year as a player.

And I wonder if Neal and Michael do well on grass, whether it will end their partnership which would feel a little like justice served after Jamie dumping Neal several years ago!

Seemingly, there was another major blunder in the organisational side of the event (well done, Améllie)

Luke and all the others whose matches were to be completed were supposed to stay on site and finish off when - as predicted - it was dry again

But, in error, they were all told the their matches were suspended.

And when the organisers tried to contact them to rectify the error, it was too late......

Flippin' heck.  I read somewhere during yesterday that there  would be no further doubles matches, and I actually posted here that there would be no furrher doubles action yesterday.

Then I saw a few matches were in play and had been suspended and since I waa unclear whether they might resume I deleted that post.

It is one thing me being unclear from what I read as to what waa going on. It's another competing plsyets being unclear as to what waa happening and leaving the site!!

Henry now just behind Lloyd for GB #4 in the live doubles rankings

Live 43. Lloyd 1900 points ( - 180 )
Live 44. Henry 1891 points ( + net 81 so far )

Harri is looking more and more like a good partner to have and a bad one to lose.

There's a good chance that Neal will slip out of the Top 10 after Paris, so won't have the right to qualify for the Olympics with a partner of any ranking. So it's going to be even more interesting who is nominated.

One other point about the Olympic qualification system: after 24/32 doubles teams have been selected, priority will be given to pairs with two singles players. So say Evans and Murray are selected together, they could take priority over pairs with better rankings. Would be a gamble though.

Comfortable win for Joe and Rajeev - they look as good as anyone in the doubles so far

Patten and Heliövaara have had to withdraw from the men's doubles. Seems like Harri has hurt his shoulder according to his blog https://www.harriheliovaara.fi/2024/06/03/roland-garros-r16-heliovaara-patten-gille-vliegen-luovutustappio-teksti-paivittyy-myohemmin/.
