RE: Wimbledon wildcards

No idea on spectators.  The address is

West Worthing Tennis and Squash Club
Titnore Way
BN13 3RT Worthing
Sussex

Main draw starts on Tuesday

It's just a British Tour event,  no?

They're open to spectators

Could Holly Hutchinson and Ella McDonald be in contention for a Doubles WC given their recent success?

I think at GB #15 and #18 they are probably too far down the list as there are several pairs ahead of them that will need wild cards.

This club is just round the corner from me.  You should be fine to watch and its a lovely club so I will definitely try and get down there.

Very sad news about Jodie missing the grass but it's probably for the best to really let everything heal. She can be out long enough to get a SR for her return (needs to be 6months) which should ensure she can play main draw in Melbourne regardless of how her comeback goes.

Such a shame.

I'm expecting both to enter for the WC playoffs though - whether they'll get in is another matter.

I guess Ella might have a decent chance of getting a wildcard into WC playoffs, even if she doesn't get in as of right

(Not Holly, though)

Yes, I agree. Ella is one place below Millie at GB#25, with Alice and Freya just above. Then there is Eliz, Lauryn Talia and Emma W just below her. Entry is going to be tight this year.

Fran has done her wildcard chances no harm with that win against Dolehide at Nottingham today - if Jodie B is out of Wimbledon and Venus isn't asking for a wildcard, Fran could well be someone who is now likely to get one. If I was on the committee, I think that win would be enough to cement her place, as her previous results this year have been encouraging.

Ella will be in directly to the play-offs unless the AELTC are particularly mean with qualifying wcs this year, but if she isnt then I'd be amazed if she didn't have a discretionary WC.

Yes, I agree, especially now her ranking has gone right up, that's quite a gamechanger

But there are only two discretionary wildcards - (unless some of the others aren't used/needed) - it's tight

I would therefore speculate that pre-qualies would be:

Emily Appleton

Sarah Beth Grey

Eden Silva

Naiktha Bains

Mika Stojsavelic

Ranah Stoiber - on the assumption she is getting post injury practice in Worthing

Matilda Mutavdicz

Freya Christie

Issey Lacey

Sarah Tatu

Amelia Rejecki

Ella McDonald

Hollie Smart

Megan Knight

ANO

West Worthing winner

I would have thought that Millie Rajecki should get a qualifying wild card based on 2 consecutive years reaching the NCAA semi finals along with her #2 final ranking.

On the one hand I think that every player who say isn't ranked in the Top 300 should compete in the play-offs (would give an automatic wild card to Jones, Banks and Kartal into qualies at least) but it's also quite tricky for those looking to play in Ilkley or play doubles (Appleton/Baines) that week. But maybe a first world problem.
