SR (but PR is way better terminology) and I'm surprised she isn't entered with it? I thought they could use their SR/PR for two slams?

She can, and she is. Issue is that because she withdrew very late from Madrid (I think it was that event) when she was out with no intention of coming back, it moved the date from which her SR was set from well inside the top 100 to just outside it. Which has mucked a few things up.

Ah I see. Yep, someone definitely fluffed up there.

Not being contrarian for the sake of it, but I would be amazed if Hollie Smart got one.

In the future possibly if she keeps progressing, but will she not be in the juniors automatically given her performance at the Nationals.

And rising to the challenge of being the fall guy biggrin, Hollie has just posted one of her best wins ever (if not THE best)

9 players using protected rankings gives an initial cut off of 97 which is crazy. Not sure I've ever seen the last person into a slam be inside 100.

Might be a few withdrawals but I think it's unlikely, the rules brought in in the last couple of years make it beneficial to stay in the draw and withdraw after it's made to get prize money.

Shame Jodie and Emma will almost certainly have to use up two wildcards.

Yes some of these 9 players have  failed to qualify in Paris. Baindl lost in the 1st round and Davis in the 2nd. Shuai Zhang has lost her last 20 singles matches in a row.

If Jodie doesn't make it it could be between Fran and Sonay for the last WC.

And I am now taking the bait. Who has she beaten?

She has beaten a JWR 151.   Impressive for someone her age, but way off the standard required to win in the Wimbledon qualifying.

J100 in Estonia.  Sadly, she has just lost in the semi-final.

Certainly a sign that she won't be playing qualies. Ironically when her father criticised Roland Garros for not giving her a wild card, he said that she would be prepared to play Wimbledon qualies. But maybe he knew that she was going to get a wild card anyway.

Winning her biggest title to date presumably gives Fran the edge now.
