RE: Wimbledon wildcards

My point was more about the 3 MD wildcards that didnt really deserve it. (Hev lily and Isla) We need to be taking the same approach as Australia and as harsh as it may seem out with the old and in with the new and promote the future of British tennis.

Lily won her R1 match so justified her WC.

Heather is now 32 and her singles ranking has been in a slow but constant decline since her last title in Mexico just before the pandemic and was unfortunate her best Wimbledon run came in the pointless (literally) 2022 tournament. She got a WC this year because of her past successes but after two 1R defeats in a row it would be difficult to justify another next year if she falls out of the Top 200 unless as a swansong appearance.

After reaching R3 Sonay will surely get a MD WC next year if she needs one.

The tennis is still there for Heather though, she can and does play beautifully occasionally and is still more than capable of going on a run. Another one that needs to get her head in the right place. If she's in the top 200 next year then she'll deserve a WC.

 Tomljanovic

Thanks. I was trying to think of a British player with that name.
