The women's wildcard selections are clearly congested, and I guess there were hard decisions for some places, such as Mika or Millie for a QWC selection.  But as has been said, you have to consider in most cases who you are going to drop if you promote in one of the unlucky players.

On the plus side, if they are good enough then they only have to win 3 play-off matches to get a QWC anyway, against poorer competition.

The entrants for the play-offs are not available yet but to my mind the entrants will be (not sure about injuries but going on rankings and guess work):

Sarah-Beth Grey

Naiktha Bains

Eden Silva

Ranah Stoiber

Alice Gillan

Ella McDonald

Millie Rajecki (NCAA entrant)

Matilda Mutavdzic

Freya Christie

Sarah Tatu

Bronte Murgett

Allegra Korpanec-Davies (West Worthing winner)

Gabia Paskauskas (Junior)

Isabelle Lacy (Junior)

Heph Oluwadare (WC)

Sophie Drakeford-Lewis (WC)

 10 out of 16 - maybe a B Minus/ lower 2:2 for that one!

No. He married his sister's doubles partner, Irina Selyutina from Kazakhstan. He settled in the UK after retirement and Brooke was born in London, but he returned to Zimbabwe shortly after Brooke was born.

Draws up. Tara in with a PR and Katie S playing too! No Eden, and Vic Allen has taken the NCAA wildcard.

Out of interest why does Brooke Black keep getting all these wildcards?

Looks like Eliz was last DA.

Tara Moore is a huge surprise to me. Does anyone know what her ranking was when she was banned? I thought she had been a doubles specialist for a long time beforehand. I would be pretty amazed if she is competitive in singles even at this level.

Tennis Abstract shows her last singles match as 19 May 2022 in Rabat qualifying with a ranking of 407, so I presume that will be her SR for singles

I had a look at this earlier and was surprised by how high she was. Her singles ranking was 389.

Wonder if Eden and Sam have been offered a dubs wildcard to Eastbourne and hoping to leverage that into a MDWC?

It would have been 12 had Ella and Ranah not done so well at Ilkley. Nobody could possibly have predicted Victoria Allen and Tara Moore.  Katie Swan and Brooke Black also definite outsiders.

Only because no one knew Katie was back on court. Unfortunate that her and Amelia are on the same side of the draw as I'd like both to progress,

I was only joking - good for making a prediction!

Is it Men 1st day of qualifying and Women 2nd day or vice versa? If Katie Swan gets through I may try to get a ticket for the 1st round. Sold out currently but I managed to get an FQR ticket the day before last year plus there are some available on the day.

I assume it will be the same as last year, men on day one and women on day 2. I have a ticket for day two. Good luck with getting a ticket !

I watched some of their match yesterday and though obviously up against a scratch pair they didn't look like a proper doubles partnership though they seemed to be enjoying it and having a laugh between points.

9 Wild Card Play-off place

I'm pleased Emily App got a quali wildcard

The other quali wildcards are as expected

But, yes, no room for Millie??? And no room for Naiktha???

Two of our best performers on grass so far

Frankly, for MD, I wouldn't have given Kerber or Wozniacki wilcards - I'd have gone with the French 'braver' approach

But I bet the AELTC loved giving them wildcards hmm

(Not sure I'd have given Lily a MD wildcard either but rankings do talk, obviously, and at least it's 'clean')

I would've given Kerber one as it's harder to argue with a former winner. Even if she hasn't won any matches.

Main draw WCs completely as expected.  Not sure all on that list deserve one.
