Has Anna Brogan retired again for good, or does she have a long term injury? Not appeared on any lists for a long time.

Where's the Anna Brogan fan when you need them!?

I think that was Jaggy or Johnny Aitch wasnt it? She kept popping up in PoM votes rather randomly!

She was doing relatively well compared with most so I can't see why she would give it up. I assumed she was injured - maybe waiting for a SR? Perhaps someone on X should tweet Judy to ask where she is?

Looks like she last played in week 4 - Jan 22nd in Monastir - so getting close to the 6 months now.

Good sleuthing Lambda.

Also worth mentioning Ilkley are only trying to complete round 1 singles and doubles tomorrow. So if Marni, Ranah or Ella (singles) or Lauryn (doubles) win they cannot also compete in the play-offs. I am presuming Marni will be on the qualifying wildcard list announced tomorrow given she's just outside top 250. But would Ranah have been in contention?

Ranah would be 1 of the 10 directly in to the play-offs. Ella should be in as well. At least this conflict between Ilkley and the play-offs won't be an issue next year.

I think Ranah, Mimi, Hannah and Mika will all get WC's to qualifying. There's a total of 17 WCs available over both tournaments. They're ranked 17-20. With 2 in the MD, atleast 2 above them injured, 2 possibly 3 (SBG and Eden + potentially Katy Dunne) not really showing any form and all 4 being young, I can't see why they wouldn't be given that opportunity.

Interesting. So looks like they ran out of space for Millie (or indeed Ranah) to get a QWC.

I suppose a half chance for Marni or Sonay to upgrade theirs with deep runs in Ilkley.

Slightly surprised that Emily/Lily and Alicia/Freya would be in the opening doubles announcements but not Sam/Eden and Beth/Tara. Especially given Alicia and Freya have shown no form whatsoever and the other pairs have actually won some matches on grass! I'm not sure what that is supposed to be rewarding or what signal it's meant to give out.

Who has Naiktha entered with I wonder....?

Sam hasn't really ever been a fave I don't think? Maybe Tara, given what's gone on, will be in part two of the announcements.

So those not already in or not having wildcards at the moment and likely to be in the play-offs omitting injured or non-active players)

Beth Grey
Naiktha Bains
Eden Silva
Ranah Stoiber
Alice Gillan
Freya Christie
Ella McDonald
Amelia Rajecki
Isabelle Lacy

I may have missed some, but those are the ones that I would expect to contest it.

I am rather amazed. I did argue elsewhere that I'd have Lily ahead of Millie for a MD WC. But for Millie not to get even a Q WC ...

I'm pleased Emily App got a quali wildcard

The other quali wildcards are as expected

But, yes, no room for Millie??? And no room for Naiktha???

Two of our best performers on grass so far

Frankly, for MD, I wouldn't have given Kerber or Wozniacki wilcards - I'd have gone with the French 'braver' approach

But I bet the AELTC loved giving them wildcards hmm

(Not sure I'd have given Lily a MD wildcard either but rankings do talk, obviously, and at least it's 'clean')
