Ruzic hits a much bigger, flatter, groundstroke than I was expecting. Very aggressive early exchanges.

1-2*

Heather was *0-3 and 2-5 *0-30 down.

Saves two match points at 4-5 *15-40

5-5*

Also very cool to see Lenglen busy and very involved in a first round women's qualifying match between two players outside the top 200! Very good set up for qualies Roland Garros have got it right I think. They French players on that court are big very well supported this week.

All that effort and she starts the third set like that....

"What was the point?!" she screams to herself. Indeed.

*0-3

Heather loses 6-3 5-7 6-1

Credit to Ruzic who played very well other than when she panicked in yh second set. Impressed with how she composed herself at the start of the third, I thought she was going to be implode.

Disappointing for Heather. Should have been more solid early in the decider.

Very sad to see Jodie has had to withdraw after all following a fall in practice where she has damaged her ankle. Real blow.

Yes. She's got ankles like glass at the best of times.

And, as she said, having had all the wrist injuries, it's really horrid to suddenly have ankle issues flare up again

Really feel for her cry

I'm hoping it's just an ankle roll and they just can't be sure in time for a potential Sunday start. Hopefully she's ok for Surbiton.

Not a British player but  people are usually happy to see that Jeanjean  of France has made it through qualifying.

 Yes biggrin

It was a really good match to watch too - the young American girl has a lot of potential but she hasn't got much experience and she really couldn't handle the crowd - and Léolia mixes it up SO much that Robin was left looking a bit ridiculous at times

I like Robin, but she'll have plenty more chances. But this was quite special for Jeanjean - and the crowd
