Weeks 19 & 20 - ATP Masters 1000 - Internazionali BNL d'Italia - Rome, Italy (clay)

In the mens doubles, we are obviously having a generally thinner year than normal. Joe and Neal are still our top two in the rankings. But both are well down the race; Lloyd is actually our top player in terms of race position. It got me wondering if Lloyd or even Jamie could end the season as our top doubles player in the individual rankings?

It feels like a possibility. Julian, Henry and Luke are clearly in the up but I doubt could make it to the top of the rankings this season, they arent playing the big events yet and will probably struggle to gather enough points.

Lloyds individual ranking is a lot lower than his race position, and Jamie is quietly on the edge of the top 20 again. I have a feeling one of those two could maybe crawl ahead of joe and Neal as they maybe drop down the table.

Right now a guaranteed qf place is good enough . Reckon Jamie and Michael will win that match.

Pity. Clearly Medvedev is generally very far from his best on clay. But evidently good enough to see off Jack today.

Med is defending champion here, however.

this helps explain how he does on clay

Based on these ELO ratings, Med is the 5th best current player on clay. He may not like it, but he aint bad on it.

Go to the cELO column and sort on that.

Ha, thanks for that Jon. "very far" from his best looks rather out. Medvedev clearly must have been performing rather better on clay in the last year or two when I wasn't looking properly.
