Week 19 - ITF W35 Patja D'Aro, Spain - Clay

48 qualifying draw

QR1:- Jordina Font (ESP) UNR/UNR v Sarah Tatu (GBR) 1064/116

Sarah and Ananya are drawn in the same section and so could meet in the FQR (if they can get past their respective seeds in QR2)

Hannah needs to get that ranking into the top 500 so avoiding qualifying at this level.

Hannah has 3 Accelerator placements to use this year to avoid qualifying at W35s. But that accelerator spot has been taken by a Spaniard here, so either Hannah was beaten to it or she didn't want it and the intention was always to play quali.

Hannah's presumably here for clay court practice, ahead of some important junior clay tourneys, so some more matches dont hurt much.

Her 18yo opponent beat a 46yo in Q1 - would have been amusing to see 46yo v 15yo...

Avoiding qualis at this level will not be an issue after summer
And, I agree, like Mimi playing UTR in Bucharest, the key is to play and so why would you want to avoid qualis?

The ITF website doesn't list any streaming for the coming week at the moment but I would be surprised if they showed the qualies. There might be a stream available tomorrow or on another site but we'll just have to wait and see.

Sarah takes the first set 6-4 from her much higher ranked opponent
